US man beats his own hot dog eating world record
A US man devoured 69 hot-dogs in 10 minutes, beating his own World record at an annual 4 July competition at Coney Island in New York. Joey Chestnut at the sausages with buns in the record 10 minute time, breaking his own record of 68 and winning the world title for the 7th time in a row. In the women's contest, Sonya Thomas kept her title with 37 sausages. The first such contest was held in 1916. On Thursday, thousands of spectators cheered on the competitors, which was broadcast live on TV. Speaking after his victory, Mr Chestnut joked "I feel a little full".
