Yemen: Bomb hits air force bus, killing 6
A bomb blast has stuck a bus transporting air force personell to a base in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, killing at least six people, officials say. According to one official, the bus was traveling on a road leading to Sanaa International airport, near the base. In addition to the deaths, several others are reported to have been wounded. Amee Saree, an air force officer who rushed to the scene, told Reuters News agency: "The bomb exploded in the rear part of the bus and six of our colleagues were killed immediately". The Associated Press News Agency quotes an Air Force Spokesman as saying about 24 officers and soldiers were onboard the bus at the time of the explosion. The Yemeni government is battling Al Qaeda militants on the Arabian Peninsula, who often target the military. It is not yet confirmed who was responsible for the latest attack.
