Tokyo Wins race to host 2020 Olympic games

Tokyo, the capital city of Japan, has been chosen to host the 32nd Olympic Games and 16th Paralympic Games in 2020. The Capital beat Turkey's main city Istanbul and the Spanish capital Madrid. The announcement, made by outgoing IOC President Jacques Rouge,  was met with jubilant scenes in Japan and the country will now begin preparations to host the games - the second time the nation has (the first being in 1964). At the IOC meeting, members of the Tokyo delegation - who have been lobbying for two years - wept and jumped in the air in celebration. Speaking after the news, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said: "I would like to thank everyone in the Olympic movement and we will host a wonderful Olympic games". Tokyo will now become the first Asian nation to host the Olympic games more than once.
