Judges in Italy have found that Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito are guilty of the murder of Meredith Kercher.

Amanda Knox has been sentenced to 28 years, 6 months in jail - but it is unclear what will happen next as Knox is in Seattle.

Raffaele Sollecito was in Italy for the verdict, and after being sentenced to twenty five years,  has been ordered to hand in his passport.

Knox and Sollecito had originally been found guilty of the murder and sexual assualt of the British medical student, but that verdict was overturned after an appeal.

be heard'.
However, the Italian Supreme Court then ordered a retrial of that appeal - which saw the pair free - and, following twelve hours of deliberations, found the pair guilty.

The courtroom in Florence was for the announcement, and the issue of whether Knox and Sollecito were guilty has been a cause of much discussion around the World.

Whilst Amanda Knox chose to stay away from the courtroom - remaining in Seattle - Sollecito was in Florence for the verdict.
