Clashes in Egypt after army shoot dead 3 Morsi Supporters
Clashes between supporters and opponents of ousted Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi have resulted in the deaths of 15 people. According to reports, 12 people were killed in Alexandria and 3 people were killed in Cairo. The violence came after three pro-Morsi demonstrators were killed by security forces in another part of the capital. Troops later restored calm in Cairo by separating the two sides, but nationwide violence left 26 dead and 318 injured, according to officials. The army removed Mr Morsi from power on Wednesday after millions of people protested over his leadership; he and other senior Muslim Brotherhood figures are now in detention. The US state department has issued a condemnation of Friday's violence and called for all leaders to put a stop to any further aggression. UN secretary General Ban Ki-moon has also expressed alarm at the violence, saying that it was for the people of Egypt to determine the way forward - for all people, including women, needed to be part of that process.
