Coach crashes in Italy: At least 38 killed

A coach has plunged off a flyover in Southern Italy leaving at least 38 people dead, Italian rescue services say. At least 10 more people have been injured, some of them seriously,  Italian media reports. The coach hit several vehicles before smashing through a parapet and toppling down a steep slope near the town of Avellino. The cause of the accident is not yet clear, and the driver of the coach is said to be among the dead. The coach was taking about 50 people, including children, back to Naples following a pilgrimage - according to reports. A leading fireman told Italian TV that: "the situation is critical", adding "Our men are working to save as many lives as possible".  A police spokesman told the AFP News agency   the exact number of victims could not yet be confirmed, adding: "We are still pulling people from the vehicle".
