Deadly wave of 10 car bombs hit Iraq: 29 killed

At least 10 car bombs have detonated in the Iraqi Capital Baghdad, killing at least 29 people, according to rescue services. The bombs, hidden in parked cars, hit markets and car parks in at least eight areas of the city, police say. In addition to those killed, more than 100 people were wounded by the blasts, medical staff and police have said. 2013 has been one of the deadliest since the 2003 invasion of Iraq; with more than 700 people killed in the country this July alone. The deadliest in the latest series of car bombs was said to have been in the Eastern Shia district of Sadr City - with many killed.
