US: Bradley Mannings not guilty of aiding the enemy

US-COURT-WIKILEAKS-MANNING
Mr Manning's arriving in court today.
US soldier Bradley Mannings has been found not guilty of aiding the enemy after leaking government secrets to Wikileaks. He was found guilty of 15 lesser charges by a court martial, which could carry a prison sentences; but not a life without parole sentence he would of recieved from the charge of aiding the enemy - which the US government claims he did by putting the information he leaked into the public domain; and into enemy organizations such as Al Qaeda. However, Mr Mannings argued that the information getting into the hands of the US' was not his intention - but his aim was to spark a debate on US foreign policy. The verdict follows about two months of conflicting testimony and evidence at the trial in Fort Meade, Maryland. Mr Manning's leak is considered the largest ever of secret classified US files.
