Egypt's State Prosecutor has announced that he has referred ousted President Morsi for trial on charges of inciting the murder of protesters. The accusations relate to violence outside the presidential palace in Cairo in December when at least seven protesters were killed and hundreds more injured in clashes with law enforcement. The date of the trial is yet to be announced. Fourteen other members of the Muslim Brotherhood are to stand trial on the same charges as Mr Morsi. These include leading figures in the Brotherhood's political wing; Mohammed al-Beltagi and Essam El-Erian. Since Mr Morsi was ousted from power, the military-backed interim government has cracked down on his Muslim Brotherhood Party Supporters, who are demanding Mohammed Morsi's reinstatement. Last month, hundreds of protesters were killed by state security forces after they (police and army personell) stormed Morsi-supporter camps in the capital Cairo.
