The Dalai Lama has met with President Barack Obama in Washington, despite a warning from China to not.
The Official website of the 14th Dalai Lama released this photograph of the two in conversation earlier today, and his meeting with President Obama came after the Tibetan spiritual leader visited the American Enterprise Institute to participate in two panel discussions.
China had warned Washington to cancel Mr Obama's meeting with the Dalai Lama, which took place in the map room, saying doing so was a "gross interference" in its internal affairs.
