He is known across the World as the dictator of North Korea. The third in the Kim Dynasty, he is treated as a God in his country; the most secretive in the World. All we know about him is his name, his nuclear ambitions, and that he is in charge of North Korea. 
So little is known about Kim Jong Un, the third dictator from the Kim Dynasty to rule over North Korea. We don't know when he was born, experts predict either 1983 or 1984, and analysts did not initially think he was in the frame to take over leadership of the country from his father; they focused their attention on his brother Kim Jong-chol and half-brother Kim Jong-nam. However, Kim Jong-un began being awarded a number of high-profile roles and a Japanese man who claimed to be the chef of Kim Jong-il, Kim Jong-Un's father, said that Jong-Un was his fathers favorite son. It is also said that Kim Jong-Un's mother was Kim Jong-il's favorite wife, and she is said to have clearly doted on her son. He was Swiss-educated, like his brothers, but avoided Western life by returning home when not in school and dining out with the North Korean ambassador. He first really came to prominence when some reporters started speculating he had been anointed his fathers successor partly because of his resemblance to North Korea's founder Kim Il-Sung; some North Korean watchers even suggested he may have had plastic surgery to enhance the resemblance. North Korea's tightly-controlled state-run media began slowly building up a personality cult around Mr Jong-Un; going from respectful mentions to presenting him as a confident, modern leader. Kim Jong-Un made his first public speech as North Korea marked the 100th annviersary of the birthday of founding father Kim Il-sung, praising the "military first" doctrine, and vowing the time his nation could be threatened was "forever over". Little was known about Kim Jong-Un's personal life, until state media announced that Mr Kim was married to a woman called 'Comrade Ri Sol-ju', and television images were shown of them visiting the opening of an amusement park together. Earlier this year, Kim Jong-Un stirred tensions to record levels on the Korean peninsula with threats of nuclear was towards South Korea and the West, with State media showing images of nuclear weapons, and Kim Jong Un inspecting nuclear sites. However, it appeared this was yet another major propaganda stunt to the North Korean people - who are completely shut off from the outside world with no access at all to anything outside of their country (they still do not know the truth behind the Korean war, and have no access to internet or allowed to leave the country) - to prove Kim Jong Un's authority.
